The Urban Mystic Show Episode 12 The second in a series of videos looking at different proofs for God's existence and the objections raised against those proofs. This one deals with framing the first part of the Cosmological Argument. The version I have constructed is based in part on Samuel Clarke's version, and exists in two parts. In this, the first of three videos, I set out to establish the existence of a necessary being and look at some objections people might raise. In part two I look at some more objections, as there are many. In part three I will attempt to prove that the necessary being from part one is God. Part One (to prove the existence of necessary beings) 1. There exists a reason for the existence of all beings. (Principle of Sufficient Reason) 2. Therefore all beings are either contingent (dependent upon another being for its existence) or necessary (exists because it is its nature to exist). 3. Not every being can be a contingent being. 4. Therefore there exists a necessary being. |
